Must Know Learning Theories for The Digital Age

A few weeks ago I shared with you a graphic featuring a set of some important learning theories teachers should be aware of and today I am adding another extra resource. This is basically a slideshow created  by Steve Wheeler for  ELESIG webinar  hosted by Nottingham University.

Before you delve into the content of this slide let me  quickly remind you of a basic difference between a learning theory and pedagogy. I have to make this distinction clear because the last time I posted about this topic some of the readers confounded the use of the two terms thinking that they can be used interchangeably. Learning Theories are general ideas about how the mind works to acquire, assimilate and transfer knowledge and skills . Pedagogy on the other hand is the modes of instruction employed in the classroom.
