10 iPad Apps to Enhance Critical Thinking Teachers should not Miss

Critical thinking is a skill much sought after in probably every curricula . It is our ultimate goal as teachers and educators to bring up students who are critical thinkers and problem solvers. I have already talked  about what critical thinking is all about ( check the post here ) and  given the importance of this skill in today's education Educational Technology and Mobile Learning has a separate section devoted solely for resources  on Critical Thinking.
Today I have curated a new an updated list of some important iPad apps to teach and help students improve their critical thinking. Check out the list below and let us know what you think. If you have other additions or suggestions, please do share them with us in the comment form below. Enjoy

1- Critical Thinking Basic


Critical Thinking Basic helps you rate and reflect about an idea, a point of view, a decision, a work, and more, against nine simple universal standards of reasoning.

2- Reading Prep Critical Thinking

Improve your reading skills with ReadingPrep! Practices will assess skills you need to improve. If you’re unsure of an answer, touch the “Video" or “Text” buttons for help. The Mini Tests will challenge your knowledge of each topic, building your skills and confidence in ten minutes or less.

3- Math Lands

MathLands was designed by game lovers and teachers to remedy this problem. In this interactive app, kids will be asked to exercise logical and critical thinking but in the context of gameplay and puzzle-solving. The concept is called "learning through play" and it will change children's attitudes towards math.



4- iBrainFood

TinkerBox is a fun, free-to-play physics puzzle game. While it is full of interesting science facts and teaches basic engineering concepts, TinkerBox is more than just educational!

8- Xperica HD

Understanding science through textbooks can be hard, Xperica HD for the iPad, brings the experience of touch to various science experiments to foster better understanding. Users can interact with various elements to see how the experiment as a whole reacts. The app is available for download free of cost and comes preloaded with a couple of experiments.

9- Critical Thinking University

The ‘Think-O-Meter’ iPhone app challenges your thinking and helps you develop a Sherlock Holmes-like attention to the evidence at hand. Think through dozens of scenarios and test your ability to separate reliable facts from assumptions, focus on the relevant information, and think critically to get the right answer.

10- Guess The Code

Guess the Code Free is the best codebreaker game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Your iPhone chooses a sequence of colors and you must try to guess the sequence within a specific number of guesses.

    Ar you familiar with +Armis? Armis is a hgih strategy board game that was specifically designed to develop critical thinking skills, the game is use around the world to show students how to fundamentally increase their knowledge based and grades in a fun way.
