When it comes to AI integration in teaching, the first step isn’t about picking the latest tool. It’s about shaping your AI pedagogy. Ask yourself:
- Why do I want AI in my classroom?
- How will it enhance my teaching?
- In what ways can it support my students’ learning?
A clear roadmap helps you ground AI practices in pedagogy and align them with your school’s context. From there, look at your own AI literacy. Before guiding students, you need to understand the basics: how AI works, what it can and cannot do, and where its strengths and limits lie.
Next comes vetting tools. You can’t just adopt whatever pops up online. Having a rubric or checklist for evaluating tools ensures they serve real learning goals.
And don’t forget an AI classroom policy, what I like to call a shared agreement. Co-create it with your students to set expectations and responsibilities clearly.
This may sound like a lot, but in reality these steps overlap and connect. They form a cycle that grows stronger over time.
In today’s visual, I pulled together some of the most popular AI guides I’ve shared over the past months. Each comes in PDF format so you can download, adapt, and use them as building blocks for developing your own AI pedagogy.
Feel free to use these guides in your classroom practice, PD sessions, or school planning.
