Google Slides is one of my favourite presentation making platforms. It is simple, easy to use, and above all, integrated with Google apps ecosystem allowing you to instantly access other services such as Drawings, Google Sheet, and more. It’s true that it does not offer as advanced features as other presentation tools but for us in education Google Slides work just fine.
In this post, I want to show you the different ways to present using google Slides. Whether you’re presenting from a computer, your phone, or even casting to a TV via Chromecast or AirPlay, Google Slides has you covered.
Presenting on Android Devices
- Start Your Presentation: Open the Google Slides app on your Android device and select your presentation. Tap the ‘Present’ icon and then choose ‘Present on this device’ to start.
- Navigating Through Slides: Simply swipe left or right to change slides. It’s intuitive and keeps you in control.
- Exiting the Presentation: To exit, tap the Back arrow. It’s as simple as that.

Presenting on a Bigger Screen

- Auto-Advance Slides: Set your slides to auto-advance during presentations or when someone views your published presentation online. This feature is ideal for self-running presentations at conferences or in educational settings.
Personal Insights and Tips
From my experience, utilizing these features can transform a standard presentation into an interactive, engaging experience. I’ve seen educators captivate their classrooms and professionals hold their audience’s attention by leveraging the flexibility of Google Slides across devices.
