Once every two weeks I feature here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning a list of some of the new educational web tools I have been bookmarking. These are basically tools other teachers and edubloggers have reviewed in their websites and blogs and which I think are worth sharing with you and keeping you posted about the latest in the world of educational technology.
1- Exam Time
ExamTime is changing the way students learn by providing free study tools for students and teachers. ExamTime has been developed to help students make studying more than just a mind exercise. It can be a “do” activity.Students and teachers all around the world are creating Mind Maps, Flashcards, Notes and Quizzes using ExamTime. The intuitive and easy to use tools in ExamTime allow users to create, discover and share study resources that can engage, inspire and endure. Plus, ExamTime is allowing teachers the freedom to easily form learning groups to share resources and conduct discussions.
Mathsframe has more than 190 free interactive maths games. All resources are designed, by an experienced KS2 teacher, to help children to visualise numbers, patterns and numerical relationships and to develop their mathematical thinking. New games are added most weeks.
Screencastify is a simple video screen capture software (aka. screencast recorder) for Chrome. It is able to record all screen activity inside a tab, including audio. Just press record and the content of your tab is recorded. So you can easily create a screencast for video tutorials, record presentations etc.
Shareor, a free social networking platform for teachers is an initiative designed to simplify communications between teachers. As the first online social network designed exclusively for teachers, Shareor empowers educators to share, collaborate, and connect within the teacher community.
Wonderville.com is the flagship product from Learning Core. It offers an easy way for classrooms to connect, collaborate, share media, and access “Smart Galleries℠” full of enrichment content for kids.

7- Explain 3D
Explain3D is system of interactive 3D simulations helping people to learn how things work. Simulations are the best way to show your audience, how your products work and let them play with them. They can be very useful in education and presentation. Simulations can be accessed online using web browser, standalone on all types of computers or applications on tablets and smartphones.
Framebench is a cloud based platform that enables users to come together and view visual assets(images & videos) in perfect sync, mark and annotate over them, change color composition in real time while chatting over the inbuilt voice channel. All these changes are then available for rest of the team to be viewed at a later time.
9- K-12 Educational Resource Catalogue
OpenEd is the largest K-12 educational resource catalog, with over a million Common Core Videos, games and assessments.
