AI can do a lot for us as teachers, except sit in the driver’s seat of our classrooms. The relational side of teaching, building trust, noticing the small things, connecting with students, is ours alone. That’s why I keep saying: AI will never replace teachers.
What it can do, though, is act as a thought partner, help us streamline our workflow, and create more space for what matters most: teaching and learning. To make this concrete, I put together a handy list of AI tools that can:
1. Support lesson planning
2. Help generate teaching materials
3. Assist with assessment
4. Boost productivity
5. Spark creativity
These tools are not endorsements. I’m not affiliated with any of them. They’re simply examples I’ve seen educators find useful in practice. If you’re curious, the full list is here in this visual. Maybe one of them will save you an hour this week, the kind of hour you can give back to your students
