In today’s post I am sharing with you this collection of websites where you can search for and access a wide variety of free clip art icons and illustrations. Browse through millions of free static and animated clipart icons available for download in various formats including PNG and SVG.
As a teacher, you can use these design resources and clipart materials to create a visual language that supports and illustrates textual content. Clip art and vector icons can be used to spice up your lessons and presentations and can be integrated in different multimedia projects. You can also use these digital art makers to design and edit your clip arts and illustrations.
Each of the clip art icon resources shared below offer a specific license type. I have covered these licenses in my review but digital content is not stable and what is licensed today under a creative commons or provided for public domain might be copyrighted tomorrow. Therefore, you need to always double check licenses before you use any of the materials you find online.
For teachers keen on learning more about the different types of Common Licenses, I have this illustrative poster that I shared in a previous post here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning explaining what each CCL type means and when and how you can use them.

You also need to read Canva’s licensing agreement to learn more about how to ethically use these icons.
Final thoughts
I hope you have found these resources helpful. Keep in mind that while most of these platforms offer free resources you should always make it a habit to read their copyright and licensing terms before you use any of their materials. We want to make sure we use media in ethical and responsible way.
