Quizizz transforms traditional learning into an engaging, game-based experience. This versatile platform allows educators to create, share, and track interactive quizzes that captivate students and enhance their learning journey.
At its core, Quizizz offers flexible delivery options. Educators can host live in-class sessions for real-time engagement or assign quizzes as homework for self-paced learning. This adaptability makes Quizizz suitable for diverse applications, from conducting quick formative assessments to introducing new topics and enhancing multimodal learning.
One of Quizizz’s strengths lies in its vast library of ready-made content. Teachers can access pre-made quizzes, customize existing ones to suit their needs, or even “teleport” specific questions from other quizzes into their own. This feature saves time and provides a wealth of resources at educators’ fingertips.
Quizizz also empowers students by allowing them to create and host their own quizzes. This approach fosters accountability and encourages self-directed learning, giving students a sense of ownership over their educational experience.
Collaboration is another key aspect of Quizizz. The platform enables educators to design gamified lessons and invite fellow teachers to co-create content. This collaborative environment promotes the sharing of ideas and best practices among educators.
What sets Quizizz apart from other game-based learning tools is its unique meme feedback feature. Teachers can create custom memes to provide engaging feedback, boosting participation and student interest in a fun, memorable way.
For those new to the platform or encountering issues, Quizizz offers comprehensive resources through its Help Center. Here, users can find answers to common questions about codes, sign-ups, and login issues, ensuring a smooth experience for both educators and students.
Quizizz stands out among game-based learning tools by offering a unique blend of features that cater to diverse teaching styles and learning needs. Whether you’re looking to assess knowledge, introduce new concepts, or simply make learning more enjoyable, Quizizz provides the tools to elevate your classroom experience.

How to play a Quizizz game solo?
Besides quizzes assigned by their teachers, students can also use Quizizz library to search for quizzes created and shared by other teachers and/or students. They can search for quizzes by grade, subject, language, number of questions, and more.
Once they find the quiz they are interested in, they can click on Practice to play the game solo and select Start to play the game. When they complete the game, they receive a game summary with their scores. Students can repeat the same quiz for mastery or search for other quizzes.
How to host Quizizz games as students?
This is one of my favourite features in Quizizz. Students can host games and take some part of responsibility in learning. Hosting games is available through the Challenge Friends feature. The difference between teacher-hosted and student-hosted quizzes is that in the latter students get to play the game as well.
‘Students get to see a live dashboard with their score and rank in the game as they wait for other players to complete the game. The player with the highest score is revealed at the end of each game.’ Here is how students host Quizizz games:
- Log in to their student account
- Create a quiz or search for ready-made quizzes in Quizizz library
- When they find a quiz, they click on ‘Challenge Friends’ button.
- They enter their name and get the game code to share with others
- When everyone is joined, click on Start button
