It's that time of year when things get spooky and creepy; Halloween is just around the corner! There are plenty of ways to share the Halloween fun with students in class and help them create meaningful learning experiences. We Are Teachers has this interesting collection of Halloween games, activities, and crafts to use with students in class. Most of these Halloween activities do not require any form of digital technology. Sifting through these resources I was particularly drawn to the Feed Alphabet Letters to A Ghost game in which students you call out get to feed letter magnets through the mouth of a large paper ghost taped on a doorway. This and several other games engage students in hands-on learning experiences ideal to enhance their overall social emotional learning.
If you want to further add a spooky flavour to your lessons during this Halloween season, here are some beautiful Halloween-themed presentation templates I curated for you from different online sources. Most of these templates work on both PowerPoint and Google Slides:
This lovely Halloween-themed template by SlidesMania works for both Google Slides and PowerPoint. Simply "add your terrorizing texts and images and you’ll be ready to deliver some scary message! The Creepster font really adds up to the whole scene."
Slides Carnival offers 7 Halloween PowerPoint templates and Google Slides themes. These include: Day of the Dead, Haunted House, Cute Halloween, Simple Halloween and many more. "Funny, spooky and creepy, treasure up your special memories in a slideshow, use them for sending family photos in their costumes or propose your ideas for decorating the neighborhood."
Canva offers various Halloween-themed collections of visuals and templates ideal for use in multimodal projects in class. These include posters, social media graphics, cards, and presentations. In the presentation section, you will have access to 6 Halloween presentation templates which you can edit and customize the way you want.
