Flashcards are important visual tools that can be used for a wide variety of instructional purposes in class. From presenting and revising new vocabulary to sharing writing prompts and checking students comprehension, flashcards are proved to be helpful for various types of learners. There are numerous web tools that can help you create digital and printable flashcards. In today’s post I am sharing with you one of my favourite flashcard creation applications out there. It is called Flippity Flashcards.
Flippity Flashcards is an excellent way to easily create visually appealing cards from data embedded in your spreadsheets. The process is simple. You only need to copy the pre-made template to your Google Sheets by going to Flippity.net and clicking on Flippity Flashcards. Next, edit the cells of the spreadsheet, and click on publish to share it with your students. You can customize the cells of the spreadsheet the way you want. You can add as many items as you want to the two sides making the flashcard. You can also change the colour of text and card.
Flippity Flashcards comes with embedded audio which allows users to listen to the items on the flashcards read aloud. You can choose the language of your audio and ‘name your set of flashcards by changing the name of the worksheet (at the bottom)’. Once you completed filling in the cells of the spreadsheet with your data click on File then Publish to the Web and select Publish. Copy and paste the link in a new tab and click on the Get the Link Here then click on the generated link. Voila! Your card is ready.
