Literably is an excellent reading assessment tool that was recently featured in We Are Teachers‘ best Tech tools for student assessment. Literably provides you with the tools to effectively assess students oral reading skills. The way it works is simple and easy: students read aloud chunks of text snf Literably records their reading and assesses their performance , that is, it “generates an audio recording, a running record, words correct per minute, percentage accuracy, and a Common Core comprehension score. From this data, it recommends a guided reading level.”
Literably supports grading levels enabling you to either choose your students reading levels or you can let the tool do the work for you. Besides helping you with the administration, scoring, and tracking of your students reading progress, Literably also generates insigthful reports about your students literacy skills to share with parents.
Note that Literably is not free but you can always schedule a demo and try it out to learn more about it. You can also watch the video in this page to see Literably in action.
