Writing Habit is a Google Docs add-on to help you with your writing. The basic philosophy behind the app is to help users build writing habits through achieving daily/weekly writing goals. It does so by tracking your daily word count and offers you suggestions for improvement. The app works best when you set your writing goals first. By doing so, you will be able to see how many words you write everyday. “The add-on lets you track how many words you’ve written over the last week and month and shows you a chart for both, along with history for the last 180 days, longest and most recent writing streak, a minimal mode (to focus on writing), and week/overall goal settings so you can give yourself something to shoot for.”
Writing Habit also supports multiple documents tracking allowing you to track up to 50 documents. Whenever you edit a document it is added automatically to tracked documents. You can also change your writing goals from Settings. You can set up daily writing goals and Writing Habit will keep you updated about your overall progress. The app is particularly useful for research students working on theses and long term writing projects. Give it a try and see whether you like it or not.
