After we explored Google resources to help you integrate digital skills lessons in your online instruction, in today’s post we are sharing with you another equally important resource from Google for Education to help you engage your students in a wide variety of learning activities using digital skills. Digital Art and Games features 10 digital skills lessons designed specifically to unleash students’ creative thinking. The lessons are accompanied by a number of helping materials that include lesson plans, rubrics, video materials, and many more. There is also the option to print and offer certificates of completion to students after they finish the lesson.
1- Write a story using Emojis
Through the communicative power of emojis, students will try to create a rebus by adding emojis to their story in Google Docs
2- Create a meme with Google Drawings
In this lesson, students will learn how to create a meme and visualize learning using Google Drawings.
3- Make a word game
In this lesson, students will learn how to use Google Sheets to create fun word games to play with their friends. While doing so, they will also get to learn how to use formulas and functions
4- Create a crossword puzzle
Another lesson that draws on Google Sheets to create fun games. In this lesson, “students will get to create a crossword puzzle by adding words and clues and formatting a spreadsheet in Google Sheets.”
5- Create a comic strip in Google Drawings
In this lesson, students learn how to create comic strips about stories and series of events using Google Drawings.
