Libby is an excellent app that allows you to access your local library and borrow ebooks and audiobooks. The way Libby works is very simple: open the app, find your local library, use your library card or sign up for one, search for ebooks and once you find the one you are interested in you can sample it or borrow it with an instant tap. Libby also gives you the possibility to download books and audio materials for offline reading.

Libby offers a number of interesting features to enhance your borrowing and reading experience. For instance, you can sign in to numerous libraries using one or more library cards. You can also manage your loans and holds and organize them into a single shelf right on Libby. All of your "loans, holds, reading positions, bookmarks and notes are synchronized automatically across all your devices". To make your reading more interactive, libby enables you to tag "titles as read, loved, hated, wishlist, schoolbook, beach-reading, whatever you like". Libby, which has been featured in ASSL's 2018 list of the best apps, is available for Android, iOS, and Microsoft.
