I just noticed that it has been a year since my last list of iPad apps for teaching music. Several new interesting music apps have seen the light since then and therefore I decided to create another more comprehensive list of some of the best iPad apps for teaching music to give music teachers more options to choose from.
1- Garage Band
GarageBand turns your iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch into a collection of Touch Instruments and a full-featured recording studio — so you can make music anywhere you go. Use Multi-Touch gestures to play a piano, organ, guitar, and drums.
2- forScore
forScore has an arsenal of tools ready to help you turn practice into performance. Create links to handle repeats with a single tap, play along to an audio track, and use half-page turns to see the bottom half of the current page and the top half of the next one at the same time, removing jarring transitions once and for all.
3- Symphony Pro
Symphony Pro lets you compose complex orchestrations, lead sheets, chord charts, and guitar tabs on the iPad and instantly hear them played back. This is the easiest and most comprehensive way to compose sheet music on your iPad.
Singing Fingers lets you fingerpaint with sound. Just touch the screen while you make a sound, and colorful paint appears. Touch the paint to play back the sound again!
5- Sound Drop
Draw lines and watch as Soundrop uses them to create music! Listen with headphones for the full effect.
- – Tap and Drag to draw a line.
- – Drag the handles to edit or double tap to delete.
- – Drag dropper to reposition drop point.
- – Audio pans left/right with bounce location onscreen.
