Google announced yesterday the launch of Chrome 32 which is the newest update to Chrome in months . This update is available for Chrome users in Mac, Windows, and Linux. Some of the main features that came with Chrome 32 include tab indicators, a new look for Windows 8 Metro mode, and automatic blocking of malware downloads. I have just updated mine and I am still tinkering with it. If you want to install Chrome 32 make sure you close all the tabs open on your browser because it wont work unless you turn them off.
As you probably know by now, there is a section here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning entitled " Educational Chrome Extensions " where I review and recommend chrome extensions that have some educational value for teachers and students. Today, I am adding some other important add-ons I learned about from Mashable. These are extensions to boost your productivity and save you time while browsing the net.
1- Tab Pakcager
This is a wonderful extension that lets you share all the tabs you have opened on your browser with anyone you want. Once installed, just click on its icon and you will be provided with a link to share on Twitter, Facebook, or via email
2- Print Friendly
Print Friendly is a useful add-on that allows you to print any web page with one click. The good thing about this extension is that it removes all the ads, navigation, and junk before you print.
3- Write Space
Write Space a web-based text editor that provides you with a distraction free space to write in. Everything you write on this editor is automatically saved so no worries of loosing your work. It can also work with no internet connection and is completely customizable.
4- Send from Gmail
This extension will open a Compose window in Gmail when you click any email address on a webpage. It also provides a button that will create a Gmail message when clicked, using the page title as the subject and selected page text and link address as the message.
5- Screen Capture
It's easy to use this extension to capture visible content of a tab, a region of a web page, or the whole page as a PNG image. You can also edit your captured image before saving it as a PNG image. Highlighting, redacting and adding text are supported.
