The iPad apps I have for you today have nothing to do with educational technology or mobile learning. These are some popular apps to check and control your health right from your iPad or iPhone. The app store is teeming with thousands of health apps but the ones below are the ones I have tried myself. Check them out
1- Cardiograph
Cardiograph is an application which measures your heart rate. You can save your results for future reference, keep track of multiple people with individual profiles, add notes and locations, and even print out your measurements for sharing or safe keeping.
Virtual Heart lets you explore multiple real-time views of the human heart, using the same highly realistic visual elements as the iconic Giant Heart at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago. This vibrant 13-foot-tall animated heart from MSI’s YOU! The Experience is now also available in convenient iPad size.
3- iMuscle 2
iMuscle 2 provides users with the ability to zoom into an area on our 3D human body and tap on a muscle to reveal exercises and stretches targeted to the development and/or rehabilitation of that specific muscle. Once identified, just add it to a workout. The app also features our unique animations which provide direction on how to properly perform each exercise. In addition to individual users, iMuscle 2 was designed with multiple users in mind, making it ideal for fitness instructors and physiotherapists to use with their clients.
4- Stress Check
This research-based assessment tool provides users with an overall stress score that illuminates their current level of stress. After receiving their overall score, users can deepen their insight by examining the specific areas their stress affects them (interpersonal, physiological, situational, control). All results are paired with useful descriptions and actionable recommendations. With this deeper level of insight, users can more effectively target and reduce high stress areas.
5- iMap My Run
Winner: Best Running App 2012 Reader’s Choice at About.com. Built to help runners, joggers, and walkers of all ability levels and ages
