World Digital Library is as its name indicates a library that is hosted in the cloud and that provides significant primary materials from countries and cultures around the world. The content is free of charge and can be accessed in several language formats.
The content that World Digital Library provides stretches over a period of time that starts from 800BC to 2013. However, the site is user friendly and content is organized in a such a way that it wont take you long before you find out what you are looking for.
There is a map in its home page that makes your navigation quite easy. Just click on any part of the world you want to research, and you will be directed to a page where you can narrow down your search. You can select the country, the time period, the topic , the type of materials you are looking for whether is it print, maps, books, manuscripts, sound recordings…etc, and finally choose the language of your choice . The resources and materials World Digital Library provides are really great and I highly recommend it for teachers and students.Give it a try and see what you can find there. Enjoy
