In Educational Web Tools section, I compile and review lists of web tools I gather from different sources online and provide them handy for teachers and educators particularly those who, because of their time constraints or any other reason, do not have the time to spend online looking for web tools to try with their students or to use for their professional development. The priority is always given to those new web tools that have recently been created but I so often include other tools as well. However, for today's post I am sharing with you a list of the best web tools for 2012. All of these tools have been nominated for Edublogs Award. Enjoy
1- Claco

ClassDojo is a classroom tool that helps teachers improve behavior in their classrooms quickly and easily. It also captures and generates data on behavior that teachers can share with parents and administrators.
3- Diigo
Diigo provides a browser add-on that can really improve your research productivity. As you read on the web, instead of just bookmarking, you can highlight portions of web pages that are of particular interest to you. You can also attach sticky notes to specific parts of web pages.
4- Edmodo
Edmodo provides a safe and easy way for your class to connect and collaborate, share content, and access homework, grades and school notices.
5- Evernote
The Evernote family of products help you remember and act upon ideas, projects and experiences across all the computers, phones and tablets you use.
6- Glosgter Edu
Glogster.com - Poster yourself - Make your interactive poster easily and share it with friends. Mix Images, Text, Music and Video. It is fantastic!
7- Google Apps for Education
From Nairobi to Arizona, Google Apps for Education has transformed educational institutions across the globe with a set of great tools from web-based email to calendar and documents for collaborative study anytime, anywhere.
8- Google Hang-out
Hangouts let you video chat with up to 9 people, face-to-face-to-face. You can watch YouTube videos, even doodle together and many more
9- LiveBinders
LiveBinders allows you to do with digital information what you do with the piles of papers on your desk - organize them into nice presentable containers - like 3-ring binders on your shelf.
10- Pinterest
A content sharing service that allows members to "pin" images, videos and other objects to their pinboard. Also includes standard social networking features
11- Socrative
Socrative is a smart student response system that empowers teachers to engage their classrooms through a series of educational exercises and games via smartphones, laptops, and tablets.
12- Storify
Storify helps you collect media from across the web and paste it together into a story that you can share online.
13- ThingLink
ThingLink helps you create and discover rich images.Be creative! Make your images come alive with music, video, text, images, shops and more!













Gut wrenching that more than half of those sites listed are blocked at our school. The powers that be have got to come into the 21st century.
