Top MovieTeachers

Being a teacher is not an easy job, for the society has a certain look and expectations towards you. You need to be the model to others and always give the good example. Wherever you go parents watch you and try to curiously investigate about who that teacher who teaches our kids look like? how does he behave outside school ? and many more questions. Unfortunately this is the life of a teacher especially if he works in a little town that lives only in gossip.

The life of a teacher has also been a fatty topic for script writers and film directors. We have seen some very successful movie the topic of which revolves a round a story of a single teacher helping his students discover the world as is the case with this year Oscar Nominee movie Monsieur Lazahr ( by the way this a great movie about a substitue teacher who has taught for 17 years in a primary school in Algeria before he finally moved to Montreal where he started teaching in a an elementary school. The story is about the bonds this teacher has developed with his students and what he made of them, it will be playing in theatres here in Canada this month so if you have time try to watch it.)

So talking about movies and teachers, I want to share with you a set of top videos of teachers portrayed in Telivisions and movie.

Great Educational Lessons from Animals

The following  is a video about a bunch of ducklings who are trying to join their mom who is together with other ducklings are on the top side of the pavement. It is evident that some have made it and were able to get over the curb on their own but others were not. And while they are struggling to join the rest, a person intervened and offered help. He did not show them what to do or anything but let it open whether or not to use the helper he provides to them. Obviously after a few trails, they finally made it and passed the curb.

This is a great lesson for us teachers. The ducklings are similar to our students. Some would find it easy to grasp what you teach them and get over the learning curb but others would not. They need help, encouragement and more efforts. What we need to keep in mind is that help should be offered just as the last option and it should be optional.

I really liked the video and thought you might like it too.

The second video is about flying geese. In fact this is a very popular video and teaches us a lot about team work. Here is what A Gift of Inspiration said about it  " Lessons from Geese provides a perfect example of the importance of team work and how it can have a profound and powerful effect on any form of personal or business endeavour. When we use these five principles in our personal and business life it will help us to foster and encourage a level of passion and energy in ourselves, as well as those who are our friends, associates or team members. "
