6 TED Talks on The Pluses of Gaming

Gaming has become a major source of concern for some parents. They are worried about the amount of time their kids spend in front of their screens shooting zombies,or playing Nintendo. I do share the same concern with those parents and I do emphasize on parental intervention to mitigate the gravity of this phenomenon.

Parents need to start saying NO to their kids. It is true that games have several benefits on our brains but this should never be an excuse for kids to play games all day long. When the game Call of Duty: Black Ops was released in 2010, gamers around the world played it for more than 600 million hours in just the first 45 days. Aren't these stats intimidating ?

I believe that it is only when we  supervise the type of games our kids play and when we organize the time of their gameplay, we will  be able to reap the several advantages of gaming. Bavelier  ( brain scientist ) and her team did and experiment in which they measured  the impact of gameplay on the brain and they found out that playing 5 to 15 hours a week of video games correlates with better vision and the ability to see more detail in the context of clutter ( these pieces of information are taken from the videos below ). However, to learn more about both the importance and dangers of gaming on our kids and students, I am introducing you to a list of some great TED talks on this topic. Enjoy
