iPad is making a huge revolution in education. It is even reshaping some of the old notions about learning and teaching giving more prominence to the collaborative and student-centered approaches to instruction. I know it is too early to evaluate its presence as a learning tool inside our classroom but the omens of a good reap are in the horizon. More and more students are using it in their learning. Some schools have even started adopting it as alternative to hard cover textbooks .
I know many of you have some kind of reserve as to the use of such gadgets inside an educational setting especially that there is still up to this moment no scientific and pedagogic studies in favour of this usage. But the point here is that we are the practitioners and it is us who know what works well and what does not, we wont wait for some disengaged educational researchers to come and start theorizing about what will work for our classrooms . We have had enough with their useless theories, what and how we use such gadgets will have to inform any study that should be done in this field and not vice versa. I have more to say about the loose relationship between educational research and the teaching practice but I will leave it till another post.
TOday, however, we are providing you with some great learning apps for your students and kids. These apps are highly rated and have great educational value, of course since you are here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning, then it is taken for granted that what we post has a direct relevance to education.
