Have you ever thought of measuring how fast you read ? Well I did today and I wash suprised to learn that I am not as good as I thought. While I apparently scored 13% faster than the national average I had assumed I would be faster.

staples

Staples has just released this great app that lets you measure how fast you read. The app will first prompt you to read a passage and after you finsih you clik on the butoon"finish" then you will have to answer some multiple choice questions about the passage to see if you had really been readying or just passing your eyes over the sentences. Once you answer the three questions you will then get your score which is the number of words you read per minute together with your percatange vis a vis the national average. It will also tell you how fast it would take you to read lenghty books such as  War and Peace and Lord of the Rings based on the  reading  speed you performed in the first page. Finally you will be able to see how many boks on an e-reader you could read before havaing to recharge.

This app is very easy to use and does not require any registration or software download. It could be a great learning tool for students. Use it with them to inspire them to improve their reading speed.
Ok guys though I feel ashamed yet I will share with you my reading score.
